Under the leadership of Dr. Philomena Asante, in 2019 Diva Docs launched a groundbreaking partnership with Coverage, a news service of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Every month, Coverage publishes a column featuring a member of Diva Docs reflecting on her own journey, her field of medicine, health inequities, advice for patients, and ways to address structural racism and bias. Dr. Asante conducts the interviews for the series, probing for insights that are essential to both patients and medical institutions. The series is unique in health media in its sole focus on amplifying the powerful voices of Black women physicians. The content is available for republication under a Creative Commons license, and has won broad acclaim in the medical community. In 2020, the series was honored with a Digital Health Award.
